Only a 25 minute bus ride from Himeji is Mt Shosha where “The Last Samurai” was filmed. We visited it one Sunday and were so amazed by it that we took so long taking photos that we did not get to see it all! I think it will be amazing to see in spring with the sakura and in autumn with the leaves changing colour.
This is Engyoji temple which is 1000 years old.
