It was time for the annual cherry blossom festival which was lucky as Kate and Jared were still here. The festival involves everyone taking their plastic tarps down to the castle and having a picnic surrounded by cherry blossoms while 100 women in Kimonos play the koto (Japanese horizontal harp). Sadly this day was horrible weather. It just kept raining and it should have really been cancelled but they had started so they continued! We ended up taking the picnic back to my apartment and had a great afternoon inside under my fake cherry blossoms!
